Today's inspiration is a gentle reminder: Do Good for Goodness Sake!

Doing good can take on many forms; from calling a friend to see how they are doing to visiting a relative whom you haven't seen in a long time. You never know what your small act of kindness could do for that person- it may just put a smile on their face or warm ones heart. Often times we go by the notion that "if they are not doing it for/to me, why should I do it for/to them?" In all honesty we are humans and we will feel this way at times but that does not mean that we should practice such. Just do good for goodness sake without seeking a reward or validation from anyone, because in truth and in fact at the end of the day the Father is seeing what we are doing and the intentions behind it.

Sometimes persons may be dealing with trauma, abuse, the death of a loved one or a crisis of some sort without us knowing and a phone call, or message, or a visitation may be just what they need. Sometimes persons may be feeling unmotivated, discouraged and unappreciated and you offering a small token of appreciation simply says to them, "hey, I see you... you're doing great.. keep up the good work.. I appreciate you". Doing good doesn't have to be big and elaborate, it only needs to be sincere and genuine from the heart.

You may or may not know a person's situation today but pray for a friend, visit a loved one, share your lunch with a co-worker. Doing good can be as simple as breathing, so do good for goodness sake.
