I Won't Let Go!

I'm certain that we've all gotten to a place of desperation before where we barely had a choice; we couldn't have done anything else but held on. When Jacob wrestled with an angel he uttered the words I will not let go, except thou bless me. Jacob got desperate because even after his thigh was out of socket he still would not let go, even when the day was breaking he still would not let go and even after he was commanded by the angel to let him go Jacob still held on. My question today is how desperate are we? are we desperate enough to go on that 21 day fast? Are we desperate enough to wake up in the wee hours of the morning and press into the Holy Spirit? Are we desperate enough to fall flat on our faces in complete surrender to the Father? How desperate are you?

The scripture in Genesis 32 shows us how badly Jacob wanted his blessing and was not going to let go unless.. he wasn't going to let go except... he wasn't going to let go until.. he received his blessing. Jacob became tired and desperate and that caused him to wrestle with an angel, the scripture even went on to say the man (angel) saw that he was not prevailing against him (Jacob), that displays the seriousness of his desperation. My encouragement today is that we get desperate, that we get hungry for the things of God for the scripture tells us that blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness sake for they shall be filled. Seek him and he shall be found. keep going, keep pressing, keep fighting for your blessing because it is coming.
