Judge Not!

Let's be honest sometimes as Christians our first instinct is to judge those of the world or those wavering in the faith which is not right. Just because we are in a better position or a better situation than someone it does not mean that we are better than them nor does it mean that our sins are less than theirs, when in truth and in fact all sin is equal. Scripture tells us in Matthew chapter 7 not to judge or else we will be judged by the same measure. It's sad really that we can look at someone's struggle and make them feel bad about themselves instead of encouraging them or lifting them up in prayer. We should not judge because we don't know why they did what they did and sometimes it's difficult for them to explain it to anybody because they fear that they might be judged, and the sad part is that they are right. We don't know the trauma that persons have experienced nor can we begin to fathom the thoughts that plague them daily because of the choices they have made. In reality we don't even know how hard it was for them to muster up what strength they have left to get out of bed in the mornings and yet we stand aside and point fingers. As humans judging others come as a second nature but as children of God that should never be at the fore-front of our minds, we all make mistakes, some greater than others rather but judging won't reverse the hands of time nor will it shed any light on the situation. So when the thought of judging someone comes to mind rebuke it! Pray for them instead, offer an encouraging word or give them a smile, you may never know how your small act of kindness may just help to lift the load we all carry.
