Self-Destruction

At some point the noise in your mind become unbearable and unavoidable, other times binge watching your favourite show only numbs the pain for so long and other times you realize that being in the sanctuary doesn't give you that peace that you so long for. In these instances what do you do? Cry? Try to fill the gaps again? From a Christian perspective you'd probably hear pray or read the word or continue showing up to church, but realistically, you may need to take a step back, breathe, rest, get counseling or isolate. Now, I know at times as Christians we don't understand the concept of isolation and believe that it is not of God but we too must remember that Jesus often withdrew himself from the crowds and his disciples to be with the Father. As the church often times we can't discern what persons are going through so we meet the need for holistic nurturing with rebuking the devil whilst telling the persons who are falling a part to still sit in the sanctuary- that's not wisdom. The reality is many persons today in the church are self-destructing because they refuse or they don't know how to pause and really self-examine what's wrong or what's going on with the inner man because in reality old habits will creep up subtly whilst your leading the praise team or preaching a sermon.
As Christians we have to know how to strike a balance as we are not fully spirit but we are still humans and if we are not properly nurturing or caring for the parts of us that can exist in this world then our spirit man won't thrive. I implore us all to strike a balance lest we end up self-destructing in a place we were meant to thrive.
