The Beauty of Brokenness

Whenever we break something, we see what's inside. We see what causes it to function or what caused it to stop working. Take a toy for example- when cracked open we see the screws and little pieces joined together, we see where the batteries go etc. Let's look at a fruit- the outside may look unpleasant and inedible, but once cut, peeled or broken we get to see and even experience it's wonderful flavour and nutritious benefits.

Being in a state of brokenness means truly opening up and being vulnerable before the Father. Often times, it is in our broken state that He chooses to use us to glorify His name and to draw others unto himself- how? Because He knows just what we have inside of us- first, the Holy Spirit and second, the gifts that were imparted unto us. It may take some sieving through what we refer to as "the mess", but the Lord sees our brokenness as beautiful before Him, after all, He does desire truth in the inward parts.

Feeling like you're in a state of brokenness? Don't worry; broken crayons still colour. God can still use you in whatever state you are in because He is the Potter and we are the clay. The best part of many things is when they are broken open, so do not despise your moments of brokenness.
