Trauma is Not Your Identity

Trauma is something that we have all been through, but we should not allow it to overcome us, nor should we allow our past hurt to shape our thinking nor our behaviour. You are not the abuse, you are not the neglect, you are not the negative words spoken. The enemy wants us to parade around dressed in our wounds and loudly profess ourselves as victims! Don't get me wrong, we did go through what we went through, but I believe that's what we should do, "go through it" not become it for we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus and who the son sets free is free indeed. So we don't have to walk around with the chains of trauma about our neck that seek to plumet us back into the sea of depression, hurt, and bitterness- but Jesus came to change that narrative. Jesus said you are healed, redeemed, bought with a price, loved and HIS! Your story has been rewritten by blood of the lamb; trauma has no place here. Rebuke every thought or trigger word that seeks to bring you back to that place. Renounce trauma and every traumatic experience that you have been through and announce that you are a child of the King!
